I then tried running Malwarebytes again - and again it won't even open. ![]() I have manually gone through the Control Panel list of programs to see if anything jumped out at me - only one item - *Rocket Tab* - which I searched for on another computer and followed steps to manually remove from each of the three browsers that are on this laptop - IE, Chrome and Firefox - but it was not active on any of them - and when I tried to manually do an uninstall from Control Panel - it said it had already been removed. However - I did click through the screens and reboot - and as you can see - Windows did start back up again after all. Did a hard shutdown - and upon rebooting, Windows attempted to run a full scandisk and invoke Windows recovery - but this morning it shoed unsuccessful. Last night however, Malwarebytes ceased functioning - which is a telltale sign to me that something has gotten past it. Recently this laptop has gotten slower and slower - even though we've been regularly scanning with Malwarebytes and AVG and (we thought) successfully cleaning objects that were found. ![]()
